Funding EU-USA innovations towards the next generation internet built on trust.
The 48-month EU-funded project NGI Transoceanic will launch three 18-month open calls for technology development, demonstrators and standards contributions for next-generation internet topics worth €3.2 million, and contribute to the expansion of the EU-USA Twinning Lab through the involvement of key players across EU and the USA. NGI Transoceanic builds on the success of the precursor initiative NGIAtlantic.eu (2020-2023) as well as the foundation provided by the NGI initiative of the European Commission, which aims to shape the development and evolution of a new Internet that responds to people’s fundamental needs, including trust, security, and inclusion, while reflecting the values and the norms all citizens enjoy in Europe. Discover the unique opportunity of collaborating alongside institutions from across the Atlantic and keep an eye out for the latest Open Calls for innovation!
NGI Transoceanic aims to fund innovative projects in three open call batches related to common priority topics of mutual benefit derived from within the EU’s NGI related projects and initiatives and counterpart USA's related programmes. Selection will be based on a clearly established selection criteria. The open calls will be implemented through a transparent and efficient process utilising an already developed mature, field-tested cascading grants management platform and digital processes with oversight from independent evaluators.
The EU-USA NGI Twinning Lab allows organisations and researchers from across the Atlantic to partner up and collaborate on joint proposals and increase the chances of getting funded. Several participants currently in the Twinning Lab have already successfully been funded in the past.
